Foundations: Studies in Memory, Symbol, and Becoming
Foundations is an archival collection of earlier works that trace the roots of my visual language—where experimentation, intuition, and personal history first converged. These pieces explore memory as material, symbolism as instinct, and art-making as a process of becoming rather than arrival.
Created during periods of transition, grief, and self-definition, this body of work reflects an artist in dialogue with identity, spirituality, and cultural inheritance. Motifs emerge organically—figures, abstraction, texture, and pattern—often guided more by feeling than form, signaling the early development of themes that continue to evolve in my current practice.
While distinct from later, more conceptually unified collections, Foundations holds the blueprint. It documents the questions before the answers, the motion before refinement, and the emotional groundwork that informs everything that follows.
This collection remains essential—not as a destination, but as a testament to growth, honesty, and the courage to begin.
