Consumed Confections

Consumed Confections is my tribute to a chance encounter with the legendary Black artist Willie Cole. Meeting him left a lasting impression on me, and this series is my way of honoring that moment. I reimagined his iconic mask art through my own lens—using candy and food as my chosen medium at the time.
Each piece is vibrant and playful on the surface, full of color, texture, and that irresistible pull of nostalgia. But beyond the sweetness, the masks carry a sense of spirit and individuality—every one of them has its own personality. This series has been an adventure in blending tribute, transformation, and the unexpected joy of creating with unconventional materials.
